Introducing MongoDB Atlas Data Lake (MongoDB World 2019 Keynote, part 7)

June 28, 2019
Many businesses have immense amounts of data but struggle to archive it in an easy-to-query way. The most cost-effective way to store data like this is in object storage such as Amazon S3, but that makes it hard to query. Stand-alone solutions require ingesting the data into another system, introducing another component to your infrastructure. The data is rich, structured, homogenous, and stored in many formats, making SQL a poor fit. Atlas Data Lake is a service that runs MongoDB Query Language (MQL) queries directly against S3 data, with no need to ingest, flatten or specify any schema at all. Atlas Data Lake can directly query data stored in JSON, BSON, CSV, TSV, Avro, and Parquet. MongoDB Atlas Data Lake: All your data in S3 available through the Mongo Query Language in a matter of minutes. On-demand, in-place, and available through any MongoDB driver. https://www.mongodb.com/atlas/data-lake
