MongoDB Realm unifies mobile, web, and backend development (MongoDB World Keynote, part 6)

June 27, 2019
MongoDB CTO Eliot Horowitz and Realm Co-Founder Alex Stigsen discuss the Realm acquisition, the future of the core Realm mobile database, and the roadmap for MongoDB Realm. Realm is already the best way to work with data on a mobile device, and it's going to keep its roadmap: improved support for unstructured data, support for cascading deletes, inheritance, and availability on more platforms. Sync will be powered by MongoDB Atlas on the backend. Additionally, MongoDB Realm will become an application development framework offering both mobile and web developers the best way to work with data on their respective platforms, unified by a serverless, real-time application backend built on top of MongoDB Atlas.
